Physical Therapists earn prestigious Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certifications

The Student Health Center congratulates Robbye Brooks, P.T. and Donna Rich, P.T. on becoming board certified orthopedic clinical specialists in physical therapy. The Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) is designated to those therapists who have successfully passed andbecame board certified clinical specialists as recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association. Currently, only 149 physical therapists in North Carolina hold this distinction and 7655 therapists nationally.

To obtain board certification, candidates must submit evidence of required clinical practice in the specialty area of orthopedics and successfully complete a rigorous written examination, demonstrate specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency in the specialty area of orthopedic physical therapist practice.
